A request has also been lodged with the department towards grading the R491.

Asphalt was applied to the road surface along the R102 at Illovo Beach on Wednesday, 21 June following the replacement of six lengths of stormwater piping by the Department of Transport.

A request has also been lodged with the department to extend consideration towards grading the R491 that runs in front of Amcup and links the P3 (R102) to the P197/3 (Lower Illovo Road towards Umnini) in an attempt to accommodate commuter traffic while repairs of the Lower Illovo steel bridge is underway.
