Be proactive in the fight against crime

A special request is made to the Beach Road residents to attend.

An urgent appeal is being made by the Amanzimtoti SAPS sector one commander to the community of sector one to attend the monthly crime forum meeting.

Sector one stretches from Seadoone Road north to Athlone Park.

The crime meeting is held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre activities room, next to the library.

“So often the community vent about their crime related issues on social media,” said Amanzimtoti SAPS communication officer, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

“Rather attend our meeting as it is the platform to share your concerns and come up with strategies.”

The meeting is only one hour per month.

“Become involved in your community in partnership with the SAPS to proactively prevent crime in our community,” said Capt Van der Spuy.

The next meeting will be held on 4 July from 6pm to 7pm.

“A special request is made to the Beach Road residents to attend as Beach Road is one of our hot-spots for property and vehicle-related crimes which includes theft of motor vehicles, common robberies and so on. Mall managers and security companies are urged to attend.”
