Help fund Amanzimtoti netball players’ goal

They each need to raise R6,000 by 30 June before they can play in the tournament.

Two Kuswag Skool netball players have qualified to join the U16 Natal AVS team, but need your help to play in the Bokkie Week.

Concheta van Deventer (16) and Ruchelle Smit (14) were surprised to make the squad.

“This year there were so many players contesting the trials, which were held at Kuswag on 31 May,” said Concheta.

This is the fourth consecutive year Concheta has made the squad. She has also made the KZN All School steam for the last three years and KZN action netball squad for the previous two.

This is the second consecutive year Ruchelle has made the AVS team.

Ruchelle and Concheta hope for a good result at this year’s tournament.

“We have a strong team this year and we hope to go further at Bokkie Week than last year.”

Last year the Natal team finished eighth but the girls are aiming for a third place finish this time around.

Bokkie Week, which features, rugby, hockey and netball, takes place at Naboomspruit from 8 to 15 July. To prepare, the girls will participate in a training camp at Port Natal Skool from 5 to 8 July.

However, they each need to raise R6,000 by 30 June before they can play in the tournament. Besides going from door to door to get sponsorship from local businesses, the girls need your help to help them raise the necessary funds.

If you can help, call Concheta on 060-408-6714 or her mother Petro on 078-506-0370.
