An armed robber was apprehended by the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) on Saturday, 17 June after he committed a robbery in Eland Road, Amanzimtoti.
Blue Security and CCPO officer, Neo Pakkies responded and spotted the man in Wade Road and called for assistance.
CCPO’s Wayne Smerdon and Mark Claasen responded and Mark, on his first day with the CCPO, caught the man.

Meanwhile, on Friday, 16 June a resident in Umdoni Road, Amanzimtoti saw a man breaking into his garage. The man stole a box of shoes, but was caught as he attempted to flee.
On Thursday, 15 June, a resident in the area chased after a housebreaker and caught him after a housebreaking occurred in Ngobeni Road in Athlone Park. The thief was handed over to Amanzimtoti SAPS.
