Help build kennels by donating old T-shirts

Every Saturday up to 10 children and their dogs arrive at the SPCA gate desperate for help.

Amanzimtoti residents are requested to donate old T-shirts to be upcycled into little kennels for puppies and small-medium dogs.

The kennels will be donated to township dog owners.

This is an initiative of Cathy Keegan and Dominiqe Shone‎ of Edu-Paw, who help all township dogs on Saturdays at Amanzimtoti SPCA.

Every Saturday up to 10 children and their dogs arrive at the SPCA gate desperate for help. Dogs are dewormed, dipped and each child receives a flyer with simple canine care tips written in isiZulu.

“The young boys come in their droves with their dogs to get them de-wormed, get food to take home or any other help they need with their dogs,” said Cathy.

“The boys are also being educated on how to look after their dogs.

“The kennels will give the dogs a warm place to sleep during winter.

Any donations will be appreciated.”

Cathy and Dominiqe can collect the T-shirts or it can be dropped at the SPCA under the name Edu-Paw.
