Man dies in head-on M35 crash

The cause of the collision is unknown.

One person was killed and five others injured when two vehicles collided head-on on the M35 after Philani Mall, south of Durban at about 8am today (Wednesday, 14 June).

“Paramedics arrived to find the two vehicles had come to rest on the side of the road,” said Rescue Care operations manager, Ceron Lennox.

A man believed to be in his 30s had died before the paramedics’ arrival. He was declared dead at the scene.

Another five people sustained various injuries and were stabilised before being transported to various hospitals. The cause of the collision is unknown, however SAPS attended the scene and will investigate.
