TRAFFIC ALERT: Taxi protest action planned for Prospecton

1,000 protesters to protest outside Prospecton car plant

Protest action is planned for Prospecton tomorrow  (Wednesday, 31 May) by the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO).

Some 1,000 protesters are expected to gather at the Avenue East sports fields in Isipingo Beach at 5am, with the plan to march towards the Toyota plant’s main gate at about 8am, according to a statement circulating via email.
Metro Police and SAPS will oversee the protesters, who should disperse by about midday.
It is unclear what motivated the protest action, however the Sun will follow this developing story.
