Don’t fall victim to this new crime trend in Amanzimtoti

More than one incident has now taken place.

The Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) warns residents living in Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas of a developing trend.

“Residents get up early to let their dogs out and they leave their doors open for a few minutes,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

“This is all opportunist criminals need to sneak into your home to steal your cellphone or laptop and disappear.

If by some chance you find them in your home and confront them, it turns into a home robbery when the suspect produces a weapon and threatens you.” According to Toti SAPS, more than one incident has now taken place, but unfortunately victims were reluctant to open a case.

“If you get up early, lock your door behind you and be vigilant,” warned Snodey.
