Toti cyclists saddle up to ‘pedal for paws’

The aQuelle Tour Durban takes place on April 30, 2017

HUSKY Rescue is currently running a ‘Pedal for Paws’ fundraising campaign to raise funds to help with the sterilisation, vaccinations and microchips for six of its dogs.

There are five cyclists who have dedicated their Tour Durban ride to Husky Rescue KZN, three of whom are Amanzimtoti Cycling Club’s Chantelle Webber, Gary Marquis-Jones and Penny Chapman.

Husky Rescue KZN has recently had an influx of dogs surrendered and rescued. As a result March was sterilisation month.

Six of Husky Rescue’s furbabies Aurora, Sadie, Leila, Blaze, Prince and Boika were booked in for sterilisation, vaccines and microchips, which required R5,500 to cover these costs.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much

Therefore the organisation recruited five cyclists who have dedicated their Aquelle Tour Durban to Husky Rescue KZN. The Toti cyclists will be joined by Allyson du Plooy and Ann du Plessis to work towards raising funds for the huskies. Visit their Backabuddy crowdfunding link here to learn more about each cyclist. To date they have raised R14,198 for the Huskies – far beyond Husky Rescue’s expectations.
