Another Amanzimtoti pensioner hit by pickpocketers

I just want to warn shoppers to be aware when they are out shopping.

An Amanzimtoti pensioner warns the public to be on the look-out for pick-pocketers after her wallet was stolen out of her bag at a local mall.

Maureen Smith said she was shopping at the mall when someone bumped into her twice.

“I think it was a woman. When I got to the till I saw my handbag was lying open,” she said.

Her wallet containing R500, her diary, various cards and a copy of her ID were stolen.

“All my details are on the cards. I just want to warn shoppers to be aware when they are out shopping,” said Maureen.

This follows another report where an elderly woman had her bag stolen while out shopping on Friday morning, 17 March.
