12-year-old horse show dream becomes a reality

The events will include a fancy dress class, barrel racing, obstacle course and a few showjumping classes.

CALLING all horse lovers, great and small to join as Toti ranch hosts a training show along with many other activities on Saturday, 1 April starting at 9am at 96 Adams Road, Amanzimtoti.

The events will include a fancy dress class, barrel racing, obstacle course and a few showjumping classes. With flea market stalls, a car boot sale on the go and boerewors rolls along with many other goodies on sale, the day promises to be fun for all ages.

Leading up to the event, four months ago little Daniela Tieghi (12) received a surprise birthday gift delivered to the local ranch and yes, you guessed it, it was a pony named Nevada. Daniela and Nevada formed an amazing bond in the passing time and she thought it was time to try her in a home competition.

Daniela approached Toti Ranch a couple of weeks ago to ask whether it would host a show. After getting the go-ahead, she started organising the events, firstly arranging the fundraising day on 4 March, which enabled the ranch to buy prizes for the show. She also organised the classes and the invites. The show promises to be a fun-filled family day, filled with happiness and laughter and of course a little bit of competition to keep things interesting.

Organisers thank Toti Ranch owners, Jeff, Serena and Paula McKenzie for allowing the show to become a reality.

The show is still open to entries. Registration is currently open and will remain open until 9am on the day. Those interested may contact either Janette Teighi 078-152-8620 or Nancy Strachan on 073-714-1644.
