More time to view valuation roll

Make sure you lodge any objections before 2 May.

THE valuation roll inspection period has been extended by a month, allowing Durban home owners added time to lodge objections.

eThekwini Municipality’s third general valuation (GV2017) roll inspection period will end on 2 May, instead of 31 March. GV2017 will come into effect on 1 July.

“Property owners are encouraged to inspect the roll to determine whether the entries reflected therein are a correct reflection of the property’s value. The property owner may lodge an objection if they feel the valuation is either too high or too low,” said deputy city manager for the finance cluster, Krish Kumar.

Go to www.durban.gov.za or visit your nearest Sizakala centre to view the valuation roll. Objection forms must be hand-delivered to the real estate unit, 75 Dr Langalibalele Dube (Winder) Street, Durban or emailed to val.roll@durban.gov.za. Queries should be emailed to val.roll@durban.gov.za.
