City urges residents to keep recycling despite shortage of orange bags

Residents may use clear bags in the interim for all recyclables

ORANGE recycling bags are in short supply, but Durban Solid Waste (DSW) urges all residents to keep recycling and to use clear bags while supplies of the orange bags are being dealt with.

DSW thanked all residents for their participation in the curbside recycling programme known as the Orange Recycling Bag programme and said the issue of supply of bags was being dealt with at the highest level of city management.

Residents may use clear bags in the interim for all recyclables, including plastic, cardboard and paper, with glass and cans in a separate clear bag.

Any comments and questions about the recycling programme can be directed to DSW helpline on 031-303-1665 or 031-311-8804 or email kdbarec@durban.gov.za
