Burglars bagged with loot, owners sought

CCPO guards caught a housebreaker in Dan Pienaar with a gas bottle and cooking top.

The Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) apprehended two housebreakers and recovered stolen property this week.

CCPO committee member, George Snodey said in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 10 January, operations manager, Rupert Smit and his crewman apprehended a housebreaker in Fynn Road at about 3.30am.

“A pink girl’s bicycle and red tracksuit top were found in a nearby property,” said Snodey. “The man claimed it belonged to his friend who ran away.”

In a separate incident on Saturday, 7 January, CCPO guards caught a housebreaker in Dan Pienaar with a gas bottle and cooking top.

“All the items are at Amanzimtoti police station waiting to be claimed and we need the complainants to come forward,” said Snodey.
