Police seek help in solving N2 hit and run

Police found the body of an unknown black man, who is believed to be in his mid-30s.

A grisly discovery was made at about 6am on Thursday, 22 December when the body of a man was found on the side of the N2 northbound, opposite Arbour Crossing in Amanzimtoti.

The discovery was reported to Toti SAPS, who responded at about 6am.

On their arrival, police found the body of an unknown black man, who is believed to be in his mid-30s. He was dressed in a navy pants, red striped golf T-shirt and black All Star takkies. A black bag was found next to the body.

It appeared he had been struck by a motor vehicle. According to paramedics who examined the body, the incident could have occurred about eight hours earlier.

The deceased was taken to the Gale Street mortuary.

Toti SAPS detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide and ask anyone with information which could assist the investigation or anyone who may be able to identify the deceased to contact the detectives on 031-913-1300/26.
