Witnesses, parents of school bus crash asked to contact police

The school bus was carrying 14 children between the ages of six and 13 years.

AMANZIMTOTI police have appealed for witnesses to a motor vehicle accident which took place in April to make contact with them.

The crash between a yellow Mazda Marathon school bus and a gold coloured Toyota Avanza took place at 7.30am on Old Main Road, Felekisi near Amanzimtoti on Tuesday, 26 April this year.

The school bus was carrying 14 children between the ages of six and 13 years.
Police need both witnesses and the parents and guardians of the children to come forward.

The passengers injured in the crash were transported to Prince Mshiyeni and Isipingo hospitals by KZN and Sisanda ambulances.

Amanzimtoti detectives are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving and alleged drunk driving.

Witnesses and parents or guardians of the children are asked to contact investigating officer W/O Sandile Msomi in order for the case to be finalised, on 031-913-1328 or 073-705-2086.
