A hijacker was fatally stabbed following an attempted hijacking on Saunders Avenue in Isipingo Hills on Monday afternoon, 12 December.
According to Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo, it is alleged that three armed men approached a resident, who tackled the man closest to him.
It is believed the hijacker bit the complainant in a scuffle.
His two accomplices fled the scene and were spotted being picked up by a silver VW Polo by an eyewitness.
Isipingo SAPS, Alpha Alarms tactical unit, Umlazi K9 unit and Toti SAPS, together with EMRS, responded to the scene.
EMRS declared the hijacker dead upon arrival.
