N2 pedestrian struck by car

A man believed to be in his late 40s was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle on the N2 southbound in Amanzimtoti on Friday afternoon, 2 December.

“Paramedics found the man lying in the slow lane of the highway while the vehicle had come to a stop in the emergency lane,” said ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring.

“He had sustained serious injuries to both his arms and legs and was in a critical condition.”

He was treated on scene, before being transported to Prince Mysheni Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle escaped injury.

The cause of the collision is not known but local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
