Black Friday is a scam

The papers were full of so called Black Friday offers, but none of them appeared any different from the normal run of special offers.

EDITOR – I don’t think, in all my days, I have ever come across such a scam as ‘Black Friday’.

I thought I’d go to a national food retailer and check out their specials, but couldn’t get near the place for lack of parking and people crowding everywhere.

So I then decided to go to another large retailer, which I thought would be quieter, just to find they had followed the trend and were also offering specials.

However, when I went in and wandered around, I couldn’t see a single thing that was priced differently from the previous Wednesday when I did my usual weekly shopping.

The papers were full of so called Black Friday offers, but none of them appeared any different from the normal run of special offers. Even the airline offer is freely available on the internet.

I’m thoroughly disgusted by this greediness on the retailers’ side and will know to avoid it all next year. I advise any right-thinking person to avoid it as well.
