School buoyed by grade R classroom handover

The classrooms will be used for the new intake of grade R pupils in January.

An Infume school is excited to start the new year after the Department of Education handed over the keys to two new classrooms on Friday, 25 November.

The classrooms will be used for the new intake of grade R pupils at Amazibu Primary School in January.

“Work started on the classrooms in March and they were completed in October,” said principal, Rudolph Sibisi, who has headed the primary school since January.

“This year we had 45 grade R pupils and now we can accommodate up to 60 next year.

These new classrooms will help us a lot. Our emphasis is on early development to give our pupils a good foundation. Previously we didn’t have place to accommodate them, so they missed out on early development and struggled to catch up in higher grades.”

Amazibu was opened in 1927 and currently accommodates 265 pupils up to grade 7.
