Hospice tree lights up memories of lost loved ones

The light can be in memory of a mother, father, child, family member, friend, colleague, beloved pet.

As the year draws to an end, our thoughts turn to our loved ones who have passed on or those who are very ill and unlikely to see another year through.

The Toti public is encouraged to support Khanya Hospice by purchasing a light or two to hang on this year’s Tree of Light, which will light up Scottburgh Mall.

“The light can be in memory of a mother, father, child, family member, friend, colleague, beloved pet or just to give thanks for the joy of being alive,” said Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald.

“Your support is important to us, as it enables us to continue to offer the free palliative nursing care for the people who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses in the huge community that Hospice serves, from the old airport to Hibberdene.”

People are also offered the opportunity to write a message to a loved one and hang it on the tree for all to read and see.

Lights are on sale at the mall and at any of the Hospice shops in Scottburgh and Amanzimtoti. For those who are unable to get to the mall or the shops, electronic payments can be made to Khanya Hospice, Standard Bank, branch code: 057627, account number: 0582874060, and in the reference column write Tree of Light with your name and contact number.

For more information, call Khanya Hospice on 083-597-8985 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za.
