Response officer nabs robber

Quick action from a reaction officer resulted in the arrest of an armed robber in Lotus Park on Wednesday evening, 9 November.

“The officer was in the area when he was approached by a man who reported that he had just been robbed at knifepoint by two men on the Orient bridge,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

The men had fled with his bag and valuables.

The victim gave the officer a description of the two and he searched for them. When he spotted two men who matched the description, one fled but the other was apprehended by the officer in Mimosa Place.

The victim positively identified the robber and the stolen items were found in his possession. He was handed over to Isipingo SAPS for further investigation.
