Winklespruit’s own Nokuthula Shozi was the first in the queue that wound its way around the centre court area on the lower level – a feat achieved by waking at 1am and being at the mall from 2am. While those around her were amazed at this, she said she’d also been number 16th in the queue at the opening of the Sandton H&M branch. She expressed excitement at the retail offerings that awaited her when the doors finally opened at 11am.

The two level store is 2,500-sqm in extent and offers apparel, underwear, sportswear and accessories for women, men, teens and children.
Durban-born celeb, Nomzamo Mbatha, made a special appearance at the opening. Mbatha hosted an exclusive shopping spree with some of her social media fans before cutting the ribbon of the new store.
“What an extraordinary welcome,” said Pär Darj, country manager for H&M South Africa. “The customers in KwaZulu-Natal have been asking for for an H&M store and here we are, ready to bring them a wide variety of quality fashion items at really good prices.”
