Family worry over missing mother (49)

Nothile Khuzwayo was last seen at 10pm on Saturday, 2 July at her neighbour's party in Adams Mission

By Simiso Ngcobo

THE Khuzwayo family at Adams Mission are still searching for Nothile Khuzwayo (49), who went missing in July.

Nothile was last seen on Saturday, 2 July at 10pm at her neighbour’s party.
The mother of three children – a daughter and two sons – was wearing a brown shirt, green shorts and grey boots at the time of her disappearance.

Nothile’s husband Nkosinathi Khuzwayo told the SUN it was an unexplained disappearance, since nobody has any idea of what happened to his wife.

According to Nothile’s daughter, Samkelisiwe Khuzwayo (21), a case was opened at KwaMakhutha police station but nothing has been done to find her. “After two days we opened a case at the police station, and we gave them all the information they wanted but no action was taken until now.

Instead they said we must try to search for her ourselves in the hospitals, mortuaries and cemeteries,” said Samkelisiwe. There are no suspects in her disappearance. According to Samkelisiwe, the family has consulted different traditional healers and they all say the same thing. “We have visited more than three traditional healers who claim my mother is still alive,” said Samkelisiwe.

According to Langelihle Ngcongo, most Adams Mission citizens do not know Nothile is missing. Sgt Nzimande of KwaMakhutha police station said they sent a report to all KZN police stations but haven’t received any feedback, which means no-one has seen or heard from Nothile. “We usually send the missing person’s report to all the police stations, so that it will be easier to find that person but in Nothile’s case, we haven’t received any feedback.”

Sgt Ngidi, also of KwaMakhutha police station, said it won’t be easy to find Nothile since her family don’t have much information about her disappearance.

Anyone who has information about Nothile’s whereabouts can call KwaMakhutha police station on 031-905-7322, Sgt Nzimande on 083-355-6220 or 079-125-9667.
