Cupcake party brings hope to children with cancer

With the support of APPS principal Mr Vorster, the staff and parents, the fundraiser turned out to be a huge success.

ATHLONE Park Primary School recently hosted a fundraising event in support of children with cancer.

Hundreds of cupcakes were sold during the school’s annual junior and senior primary concert held on 21, 22, 28 and 29 September.

Joelene Govender, who initiated the fundraiser at the school with the assistance of Natasha Dalu, Savy Moodley, Cookie Govender, Krishni Reddy and Zeha Adam, managed to raise R14,000.

With the support of APPS principal Mr Vorster, the staff and parents, the fundraiser turned out to be a huge success.

All proceeds were donated to Cupcakes of Hope, an NGO that funds families in need of medical assistance for their sick little ones. For more information about this NGO, go to cupcakesofhope.org
