Another close call for car on Toti River N2 bridge

He sustained moderate injuries after the close call.

Another vehicle skidded on the wet N2 and left the roadway near the Amanzimtoti River bridge on Friday evening, 23 September at about 22.45pm.

Fortunately for the driver he didn’t land in the river but next to it.

He sustained moderate injuries after the close call.

Netcare911 paramedics stabilised him on scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

This follows a spate of several accidents the previous weekend in the vicinity. In one such incident, a bakkie plunged into the river and in another, a passenger in a car died when the vehicle she was travelling in veered off the road and struck the side of the bridge.
