Bobbi Bear benefits from boere dance proceeds

ATKV Natalia also donated clothing that had been left at the resort to the NPO for it to sell or use.

Operation Bobbi Bear was the recipient of proceeds from a dance held by ATKV Natalia on 3 September.

“We were talking about where we can help Bobbi Bear and as we hold a dance in our hall every three months, we decided to donate the money for our ‘Lente Dance’ to the operation,” said resort manager, Elza-Lee Pretorius.

“Without our staff’s help, we wouldn’t have been able to do it. It took a lot of effort but we knew it was for a good cause. We started something, which will hopefully go forward.

Thank you to Eureka Olivier of Bobbi Bear for doing such an awesome job helping children. None of us would be able to do it. It takes a lot of passion, heart and compassion and we really appreciate it.”

ATKV Natalia also donated clothing that had been left at the resort to the NPO for it to sell or use.

“Thank you to the Natalia staff,” said Eureka. “We are so busy that fortunately we didn’t have to do much. The whole thing was done so beautifully and the evening helped change the perception that we only help Zulu or English-speaking children.

When I saw the size of Natalia’s hall, I was worried we wouldn’t fill it but about 160 people supported and raved about it afterwards. Many people were not aware it was a ‘boere’ event and people are still talking about it and asking about the next one.

ATKV has a passion for children and that evening was a family affair and I loved that people came with their children and enjoy it.

The donation will help Bobbi Bear, as we have no income and rely on donations.”

Organisers and the NPO thank Michael Patrick, AKA DJ Miklus, for providing the music for free.
