A driver and his passenger miraculously escaped with only minor injuries after their vehicle aquaplaned on a waterlogged N2 highway, plunged down an embankment and collided with another vehicle on Sunday morning, 4 September.

According to Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Chris Botha, the couple was travelling south just after the Moss Kolnik interchange when they collided with a vehicle on the northbound lane at about 5.30am.
