Matriculant killed after being hit by car
Reports from the scene indicate the car had rolled
A 17-year-old Isipingo matric school girl has died after she was struck by a car in Lotus Drive, Isipingo at about noon this afternoon (Friday, 2 September).
The cause of the crash is being investigated in the police’s culpable homicide investigation.
According to an Alpha Alarms post on Facebook, the girl was among a group who had left school after writing a trial exam. Two others were injured and taken to hospital.
Police removed the driver of the vehicle from the scene in a van. Netcare 911 paramedics were called to the police station at 1.40pm, to assess and treat the driver who had complained of chest pains. They stabilised and took him to hospital.
Reports from the scene indicate the car had rolled.
