Regional, family courts set to move

The regional and family court will relocate to Umlazi.

Following on the recent local government elections, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has indicated its intention of relocating the regional and family courts that serve the southern wards of 90 (Isipingo), 93 (Athlone Park, Toti and Ezibokodweni), 94 (KwaMakhutha), 97 (Toti) and 109 (Illovo and Bhekulwandle) from Durban to Umlazi.

A public participation meeting will be facilitated at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre on Wednesday, 7 September at 6pm at which time the DOJ will enlighten the public on its decision.

Residents of wards 89, 90, 93, 94, 97 and 109 are invited to attend or direct their enquiries to cheNel@justice.gov.za or zpienaar@justice.gov.za.
