More ambulances were dispatched to assist with the multiple casualty scene.

One person died and 17 people were injured after a taxi rolled on the N2 near the Ultra City in Umgababa at about 6.30am on Saturday, 13 August.

Rescue Care paramedics and other emergency personnel found the taxi had rolled several times before coming to rest in the centre median and one of the passengers had died.

Multiple patients were found lying around the wreckage of the taxi. Paramedics could not initiate any treatment due to the severity of the injuries sustained and more ambulances were dispatched to assist with the multiple casualty scene.
