One of two winning KZN ticket holders who have yet to claim their winnings

A Powerball Plus jackpot ticket which was purchased from an Isipingo vendor last weekend has made an unknown ticket holder a multi-millionaire.

The winning QuickPick ticket for last Friday’s Powerball Plus – which had been rolling over for several weeks and finally carried a prize purse of R19,292,609.50 – was purchased at The Pie Train in Isipingo Rail.

The ticket holder spent just R45 to win the mammoth sum. The winner has yet to come forward to claim their prize or validate their ticket.

This was one of two winning lottery players from KZN in last weekend’s jackpots, according to lottery operator, Ithuba. The other lucky winner who will be smiling all the way to the bank after scooping the R35.2-million Lotto jackpot had purchased a QuickPick ticket at a Spar supermarket in Kokstad. The R35,244,636.50 amount represents the highest ever LOTTO game jackpot won under current lottery operator, Ithuba. The player of the winning ticket only made a bet of R15. That winner is also yet to come forward to claim their life-changing winnings.

Under Ithuba, 120 jackpots have already been won across Lotto, Lotto Plus, PowerBall and PowerBall Plus  games in its first 14 months of operating the lottery. Ithuba has now created a total of 73 millionaires at an astonishing average of more than 5 millionaires a month.

For everyone who has yet to have their ship come in, all eyes will definitely be on the R10-million PowerBall jackpot for today’s (Friday, 5 August) draw. This evening’s live PowerBall draw will take place at 9pm on e.TV, ticket sales close 30 minutes before the draw.
