Ten-year-old among five hurt in Elm Road roll-over crash

Car landed on its roof in a stormwater drain after rounding a corner

A CAR overturned in Elm Road, Doonheights, injuring an adult and four children when it landed on its roof in a stormwater drain.

The cause of the crash is unknown, however the car was rounding a bend at about 6pm on Tuesday night, 2 August when the driver lost control.

Netcare 911 paramedics assessed a 10-year-old child as having sustained critical injuries, while the injuries of the others ranged from serious to minor. They stabilised the injured at the scene before transporting them to a hospital in Umlazi.
