A woman in her mid-forties was hospitalised after her car left the road and overturned on the R603 yesterday afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics responded and found the crash site about 10 kilometres before Eston.
Reports from the scene indicate the vehicle left the road and overturned, its wreckage coming to rest on its roof next to the road. Paramedics found the woman driver (45) had sustained serious injuries and treated her before transporting her to a Pietermaritzburg hospital.
