Jozzie van Staden will be relocating to Johannesburg at the end of July, AWI will miss her and her beautifully made gift articles.

Thank you to Myrna Olyott for offering to be floral convenor.

As Tuesday, 9 August is a holiday, the meeting will be held on 2 August. At this meeting, members should return trophies and take a grocery item for the birthday hamper. Also consider who you would like to nominate for the friendship tray.

The 81st birthday party will be held on 13 September, the theme will be ‘mad hatter’s tea party”. Don’t forget to wear a hat.

The drama item this month was an ABC’s aging list, compiled by Patricia McCann, read by five members. It was a clever sketch, after which everyone sang ‘When Irish Eyes are Smiling’.

A most interesting presentation was given by Wendy White on the life and habits of bats. At the close, the president thanked Wendy for her enlightening talk, as well as the tea team for the delicious snacks.
