Eight hurt, two of whom seriously, in N2 crash just before Scottburgh

A woman has died in an accident which was witnessed by her children who were driving to a family holiday in convoy in a separate car, on the N2 southbound just before the Scottburgh off-ramp this afternoon (Friday, 8 July).

According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha, the accident took place at about 3pm when a Mercedes allegedly struck a taxi in the southbound lane.

As it spun, the Mercedes struck the passenger side of the woman’s Toyota SUV, and both vehicles came to about 50 metres apart in the centre median of the N2. The taxi was found in the breakdown lane.

Netcare 911 paramedics treated eight people who were injured in the crash, however the woman passenger in the Toyota was found to have died on impact. Two of the eight people injured sustained serious injuries, while six others escaped with minor injuries.
