Home owner nurses head injury after burglary

The burglar took a bird bath and smashed the window to gain entry

AN ADAMS Road resident is recovering in hospital after he sustained a head injury during an altercation with a house burglar on Wednesday morning, 5 July.

CCPO operations manager, Leon Joone said the burglar had forced the burglar bars open at a Tunbridge Wells unit when he was confronted by the home owner.

“The burglar took a bird bath and smashed the window to gain entry,” said Joone. “The client fought with the intruder, who hit him on the head with something.”

The burglar made off with the man’s plasma TV. “You shouldn’t confront these criminals. If he wants the TV, rather let him take it,” said Joone.

It is believed the burglar previously attempted to break into another unit.
