Poinsettia fete fun for all this Saturday

Our theme this year is 'Countries of the world'

POINSETTIA Park residents have been hard at work to have all ready for their annual fete on Saturday, 2 July.

“The residents have worked so hard the whole year round and they have had so much fun preparing for their fete, which they hope the Toti public will support,” said Poinsettia Park PRO, Wendy Lloyd.

“Our theme this year is ‘Countries of the world’. Different groups of residents have chosen a country which they will represent.”

This year’s fete has an extra focus on the little ones and also provides some entertainment for the dads.

Doors open from 7am to noon.

Little ones can expect to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and pirates, have fun playing games and building puzzles, chance their luck with a lucky dip at Aladdin’s Treasure and get their face painted.

Visitors can taste delicious treats like boerewors, curry and rice, cakes and toasted sandwiches, and visit Ouma’s Pantry where you can buy homemade ginger beer, jams, pancakes and preserves.

Dads will enjoy browsing through a new stall, especially for them, called the Man’s Cave, where tools and other items of interest will be on sale.

You can also browse through books, CDs and DVDs, homemade cards, household goods, knitting and sewing goods stalls, as well as homemade children’s clothing at the Just Kids stall.

When you finish browsing through the many stalls on offer, relax and enjoy some eats from around the world at the famous tea garden.

This year’s fete will also feature tombola for the first time. “Tickets only cost R5 and there are some fantastic prizes to be won,” said Wendy. “There will be super music during the fete, kindly sponsored by Peter of Ampsters Sound and Lighting.

We thank Zambezi Signs for sponsoring our signs to advertise the fete and we are grateful for the donations we received from the public.

We hope to see you all at Poinsettia Park on Saturday.”

Doors open from 7am to noon.
