THREE men were apprehended by response officers on Wilcox Road after a shooting incident in Isipingo Rail on Tuesday afternoon, 21 June.
“Our control room received a call about a shooting on Old Main Road and armed response was dispatched to the scene,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.
As they proceeded down Wilcox Road, the response officers spotted four men fleeing with SAPS officers in pursuit on foot. The officers chased and apprehended three of the men. The remaining suspect escaped by fleeing into a stormwater drain on Wilcox Road. The men were handed over to police on site.
“As the officers returned to their response vehicle on Wilcox Road, they spotted two men who fled. The response officers searched the area under the bridge and recovered a backpack containing a knife, screwdrivers and a customised wheel spanner together with an assortment of SIM cards. Members, Dhevan Govindasamy and Michael Hlongwane are commended on the excellent response and arrests,” said Naidoo.
