Free Zulu lessons up for grabs

Our training approach is both practical and personalised

Learn Zulu the fun easy way and for free.

Zulu is the mother tongue of the majority of South Africans and is spoken by some 11 million people countrywide.

The Zulu language is also understood by Xhosa, Ndebele and Swazi speaking people.

“Our training approach is both practical and personalised, with the emphasis on ‘speaking’ and ‘understanding’ the language. African customs and culture form part of the programme,” said Wiseman Ndlovu of Smart Zulu Lesson.

“We can teach you how to converse in isiZulu and translate from isiZulu to English. We teach English as a foreign or second language and how to write in English.

The reason for starting this type of business was I saw a huge language barrier to break. With the biggest hurdle being pronunciation in the isiZulu language, we really enjoy seeing those we teach overcome it and speak the language clearly.

IsiZulu is one of the languages spoken by the majority of the South African population, so being able to speak it will boost your morale in the workplace and in business. Lastly, having the ability to understand and converse with more of the native people of this land is something worth achieving.”

Smart Zulu Lesson has enjoyed support from a number of churches it has worked with, such as Life Church, Amanzimtoti Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church.

Lessons take place in the evenings at Grace Baptist Church, 6 Whitfield Drive, St Winifreds.
