Tablers assist poverty-stricken family with food parcels

If any members of the public would like to assist with projects like this, we would greatly appreciate donations of money, clothes, blankets or food hampers

AMANZIMTOTI Round Table has assisted a family that has fallen on hard times with food donations.

“We were recently contacted via our Facebook page by the family who requested some assistance in the form of food and toiletries,” said Amanzimtoti Round Table chairman, Vincent Tutt.

The family of five, including the grandmother, mother, father and two children, live in a room smaller than a single garage. “The dad works as a welding labourer and earns R70 per day, which is used to feed the five of them,” said Vincent.

Toti RT 85 banded together and delivered a hamper of groceries to carry the family through the month. The hamper consisted of various bulk food items and toiletries. “We also donated some warm blankets and a TV for the little boys.

There are a number of families in our community who need assistance like this and Amanzimtoti Round Table has very limited resources to assist everyone. If any members of the public would like to assist with projects like this, we would greatly appreciate donations of money, clothes, blankets or food hampers,” said Vincent.

If you able to assist, email totitable85@gmail.com
