Donation makes Lovu man mobile

When we presented him with his new wheelchair, he beamed from cheek to cheek.

A Lovu man is now more mobile after he received a new wheelchair from Amanzimtoti Lions.

“The Lions were approached by Yvonne McGrath of Toti Methodist Church who asked if we had a wheelchair to donate to help Bongani Nhlumayo of Lovu township, who walks on his hands,” said Amanzimtoti Lions president, Carol Botha.

Yvonne had seen how Bongani made himself mobile, but thought a wheelchair would go a long way to help him.

“Fortunately we had an ideal chair in the storeroom which could meet his needs,” said Carol.

When we presented him with his new wheelchair, he beamed from cheek to cheek that he would no longer have to walk on his hands.

This is the rewarding side of helping people in our community.”
