Twelve children hurt as taxi overturns on school run

TWELVE pupils en route to school in a taxi were injured when it overturned on Amanzimtoti’s Old Main Road this morning (Tuesday, 26 April).

At about 7.35am, Netcare 911 paramedics responded and was told that the vehicle had rounded a bend and overturned.

The wreckage came to rest on its side in the roadway.

Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire services found the children on the grass verge at the roadside. After they were examined, it was found that 12 children between the age of six and 12 had sustained minor injuries. Medics treated them before transporting them to various hospitals.
