PSIRA tours Beach Road

PSIRA officials had been tasked to investigate the problem of illegal car guards in the area.

Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) chairman, George Lithgow’s recent meeting with the Minister of Police and Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) CEO is bearing fruit.

The problem of unregulated car guards, which leads to opportunistic crime and drug dealing, is one of the major problems that needs to be resolved in order to eradicate crime in Toti, according to security roleplayers.

A top delegation of PSIRA officials were summoned to do a road show of the hot spots in the Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas, including the problematic Beach Road, by CPF committee members, Maestro Mncibi and Tommy Ackermann, and Lithgow on Friday, 8 April.

PSIRA officials had been tasked to investigate the problem of illegal car guards in the area.

“The tour with the officials showed the problems that the CCPO and police are experiencing,” said Lithgow.

“A full report was taken by PSIRA officials, who promised the necessary action will be taken shortly in order to try and resolve this crisis.

That is positive news with such a quick response and the plans that are going to be implemented looked promising.”
