PARAMEDICS who responded to a rush-hour crash site on the N2 South at Winklespruit off-ramp on Thursday morning, 24 March were astounded that those involved escaped with minor injuries.
Netcare 911 paramedics responded to the head-on collision where it appeared that a car heading towards Winklespruit on the R603 had veered off the roadway, hurtled across the grass verge and collided head-on with a truck on the southbound off-ramp.
Paramedics were pleasantly surprised to find the two occupants of the vehicle escaped with only minor injuries. After medics treated the men, they transported them to an area hospital.
