Police collar Malukazi murder suspect

Her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend had an argument with the deceased.

Swift reaction from Isipingo detectives led to the arrest of a murder suspect.

According to Isipingo SAPS communication officer Captain David Ragavan, police were summoned to a house on road three in Malukazi at about 8.30am on Sunday, 21 February.

“They found the body of a 32-year-old female with stab wounds to her face, arms and back,” said Capt Ragavan.

Preliminary investigations revealed her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend had an argument with the deceased. He allegedly produced an Okapi knife, stabbed her and fled.

“At 10.30am on the same day, Isipingo detectives arrested him and recovered the murder weapon.”

The man appeared in Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 February and was remanded in custody.

“The management of Isipingo SAPS commends D/Cst Shabalala for the quick arrest of the suspect,” said Capt Ragavan.
