Lesson in graffiti for Toti artists

The artist will be Dane Knudsen.

THE Upper South Coast Art Association (USCAA) hosts a graffiti demonstration at its monthly art meeting on Saturday, 20 February.

The artist will be Dane Knudsen.

Dane Stops is a graffiti artist, master of figure drawing and lecturer in the graphic design department at Durban University of Technology.

His bold, expressive use of brush strokes and texture is reminiscent of the likes of Van Gogh and the Post-Impressionists. His subject matter varies from lettering to nudes, birds and other creatures. This promises to be an excellent afternoon and the public are welcome to join in at 2pm at the Toti library activity centre. The cost is R25 per person.

At the morning drawing session, artists will work with a combination of charcoal and blue watercolour, so take your paper, pencils and a large watercolour brush, blue watercolour, charcoal and a container for water as well as two images of your favourite flower. If you are a woman, two portrait images of men and if you are a man, then two portrait images of women. This session costs R5 and starts at 8.50am on 20 February. This drawing class is a wonderful way to learn different techniques and new ideas.
