UPDATE: Surf City vibe reacts to Durban tremor

In typical Surf City fashion, it wasn’t long after Durban experienced what is believed to have been a 3.1 magnitude earth tremor this morning, that a host of funny and uniquely South African perspectives emerged on social media.
The 11am tremor riled the usually chilled atmosphere around the city, with many expressing their shock and concern on Facebook.
Megan Izatt: Holy s***!!! Totally felt that tremor! Goosebumps for days!
Tarryn O’Connell: We were in Ushaka and the turtles went ballistic.
While some thought the tremor may have been related to yesterday’s Taiwan earthquake, there has been no confirmation as yet.
On the lighter side, a host of possible alternative reasons have been cited to explain why the world shook, including President Zuma dropping his wallet, and the rand ‘s most recent fall accounting for the tremor.
