Stolen motor spares retrieved

The owner of the business was not aware of the theft.

Goods stolen during a business robbery in Isipingo were recovered in Chatsworth by the Durban Flying Squad Unit on Saturday, 30 January.

“Members recovered a large quantity of new motor spares and accessories, including drums, brake pads, coil packs, signs, filters and other parts to the value of R250,000,” said Major Thulani Zwane of the SAPS KZN media centre.

“The owner of the business was not aware of the theft, however he was called and he positively identified the goods.”

The thief is still at large.

Provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the members for the recovery of the stolen goods.

“We vow the suspects involved will be traced and arrested. We encourage members of the community to do as they did by giving us information about stolen goods,” she said.

The good recovered amounted to the value of R250,000.
