A reaction officer apprehended a fleeing mugger on Old Main Road in Isipingo on Thursday, 7 January.
“The member was driving when he saw police pursuing suspected thieves and stopped his vehicle in the vicinity of Isipingo Hospital to lend assistance to the officers,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.
After chasing the mugger on foot, the member managed to subdue him at gunpoint and handed him over to police.
“Police were grateful for the assistance and arrest of the thief and thanked the member for pursuing and arresting him. It is believed that police were chasing a group of four men alleged to have been involved in a mugging in the Isipingo CBD.”
